A rhino and elephant sanctuary thirty minutes from Windhoek, and the gentlest possible start to the wild.

Home to the Shiloh Wildlife Sanctuary, a refuge for injured and abandoned rhino and elephant, this 900-square-kilometre private reserve sets an unhurried tone before the journey heads further into the desert.
